Dr Grace Kamuyu (PhD)
Director, NeuroSense Support Services
Dr Grace Kamuyu (PhD) is the director of NeuroSense Support Services, an NDIS Behaviour Support Practitioner and Neurodiversity and Inclusive Education Consultant working in Victoria and regional Western Australia.
Grace is an experienced educator and lecturer with over 25 years supporting neurodivergent students across school, tertiary, and community settings. She holds a Master of Special Education and a PhD in Education, grounding her practice in strong academic expertise alongside deep practical experience.
Grace specialises in trauma-informed, evidence-based, and person-centred approaches that honour the strengths, identities, and lived experiences of autistic learners, students with ADHD, anxiety, and other neurodiverse conditions. She has extensive experience conducting educational assessments and Functional Behaviour Assessments, using contemporary neuro-affirming frameworks to understand each learner’s profile and context.
With strong expertise in interpreting assessment data, Grace supports schools to implement recommendations effectively and works closely with parents to help them understand assessment findings and their implications. Her collaborative approach ensures families feel empowered and schools are equipped to create supportive, inclusive learning environments.
Having taught and supported neurodivergent learners in both Australia and the United States, Grace also presents at conferences on inclusive practice and facilitates seminars on trauma-informed, person-centred, and neuro-affirming approaches to supporting autistic individuals. Her work is grounded in compassion, collaboration, and a commitment to helping students feel safe, understood, and empowered in their learning.

Approach
Neuro-affirming
Neurodivergence is treated as human variation, not a deficit to be corrected. Support honours identity and lived experience.
Strengths-based
Support is designed around what a person can do and cares about, so they can contribute through their own strengths.
Trauma-informed
Behaviour is interpreted with care and context, so responses are safe, positive and never punitive.
